Dave Cook Dave Cook - Vocals / Guitar

A veteran of the music scene, Dave started in the garage with teenage mates before playing professionally in popular Perth bands all the way through the 80s. Dave’s first successful band was The Motors, a top 40 cover band that redefined popularity in the early 80s by constantly filling the now gone Perth beer barns with over 1,000 punters each night. The band recorded an album, twice toured the eastern states and released a television special filmed and screened throughout South East Asia.

He was a member of Clutch Cargo, a band that won a National original song contest compered by Richard Wilkins and later performed on iconic TV show ‘Hey Hey it’s Saturday.’ Dave states his highlight of the show was meeting Plucka Duck! A few months later the band represented Australasia at the World Final of Yamaha Rock at the Budokan in Tokyo. Following their performance, which was later broadcast to over 70 million viewers via Japan’s MTV, Clutch Cargo was chosen to join Bon Jovi on stage to jam through a few rock classics. .

Dave has worked continuously in the Perth music industry for nearly 30 years and his versatility has allowed him to perform with acts diversely ranging from an Abba tribute band to country stalwarts Magnificent 7 - and all points in between.

Despite the heights he has achieved as a muso, Dave cites his favourite experience as performing the legendary Aussie classic Eagle Rock with Ross Wilson at an end of tour party. “Having the opportunity to play that timeless riff while singing it with the bloke who wrote it is an absolute pinnacle!”
